Playing “Taps” for the American Dream . . .

Well, it’s official. The government now controls everything, including your own property. See this official decision, involving a property rights dispute, handed down by the US Supreme Court.

  1. Welcome to the club. Effectively, in Canada, virtually all land is really “crown land” (that is, the government can claim it for its own purposes, incl. power lines, roads, other developments, though it’s supposed to offer you compensation — fair market value).

I like the movie “*batteries not included”. Have you seen it?

  2. Yup, makes me sick. We have been fighting a for profit powerline here in northern WI for 5 years. They have already desimated a tribe in Canada and now want to run these lines over our farms, lakes, woods and homes to power the east. We will not see any of the power.

This country is going to hell in a handbasket. We all know who to thank.

  3. I saw the movie once, years ago, but I really don’t remember it very well. Something about a family having their home invaded by various types of mini-robots?

Anyway, I’ve been watching this site for some time now:

They have some interesting thoughts on privacy and relocation as a solution to protecting your rights.

  4. Umm……. Jesse Jackson? LOL!

No, if you look at my other posts on this thread, I think you will see that I agree with you. Aisling D’Art and I have been discussing places (on her LJ) that might be good alternatives to staying here while Washington runs the country to hell in a handbasket. Ireland is one good alternative.
