Farewell, Carl Brashear . . .

Farewell, Carl Brashear . . .
Who was Carl Brashear? Well, did you see the movie “Men of Honor” which starred Cuba Gooding, Jr.?

It was based on the real-life story of Master Chief Petty Officer Carl M. Brashear (USN, Ret.).

One of the most Honorable men I’ve ever heard of. Think about it – but watch that movie first, if you haven’t already. You can read more about him here: http://www.honoraryunsubscribe.com/carl_m._brashear.html

See, if you think about it, there were millions of reasons, or ways, that he could have failed or quit. He never did quit, and not only became the first black US Navy salvage diver, but the first black Master Chief Petty Officer. The second he did AFTER having lost the lower half of one leg – and still managing to return to full active duty! Simply amazing.

Goodbye, Carl. You did good. I’m proud to call you my brother Veteran.
