Remember that awesome-looking hover board that Michael J. Fox used in the Back to the Future movies? Well, I’ve been hearing rumors ever since the 1970’s that the technology to make such things is real, but for some strange reason has never made it to market. I’d pretty much given up on ever seeing it when a dear friend of mine (who does a LOT of internet research) sent me an email with this link in it:
http://web.archive.org/web/20010408042416/http://www.ozemail.com.au/~joi/issue4/ar185.html
(pay close attention to the date when it was published)
That link is to a page of the Internet Archive – the place to go to when you’re looking for a web page that you know was up at one time, but you just can’t find it now. Anything that has ever been on the internet is there.
Unfortunately, he never published the article, at least not in British Journal of Physics D, the original journal he was supposed to publish it in. According to Wired, his assertions caused quite to the to do. I will check around to see if he published it somewhere else. http://archive.wired.com/wired/archive/6.03/antigravity_pr.html
