Well, it’s started.  The city employees who are going to remove the tree by the street showed up about 15 minutes ago.  If you happen to live in town with us, the south 2 lanes of Rouse street are being diverted into the westernmost lane of the 2 that usually go northbound.  This will probably last all day.

And …. at 0825 (or close to that) the first cuts were made.  The tree is going down.

And …. as of 1010 there is nothing left in the air except the stumps.  The rest is all on the ground, and they’re using a front-end-loader to pick everything up and load it on a flat-bed truck to haul it away.  They might be done by lunch!
