Joe Vitale Answers That . . .

Well, I’m done looking for ways to apply The Secret, or acquire affluence in general.

Ok, I haven’t exactly made a secret of the fact that I was uncertain about what I am passionate about – that thing the Success Guru’s call “My Calling” or “My Mission.”

After getting Natalie Ledwell’s book last week, one of the bonuses she shared was a series of interviews (usually around 15 minutes long) with acknowledged masters of the Law Of Attraction (LOA).  I’ve shared in earlier posts my reaction to interviews with Bob Proctor, and Marci Shimoff.  The most recent one I watched was Joe Vitale.

In this one, Natalie pointedly asked Joe what advice he’d give to anyone who didn’t know what their passion was – which immediately made me sit up a bit straighter.  Here was a question I REALLY wanted the answer to!  He said (and this might not be exact, but it is as close as my memory will make it) “Look at what you’re afraid to do.  Your life’s purpose will be hiding right behind that which you’re most afraid of doing.”

Geee – thanks Joe.  It only took me about a nano-micro-second to know EXACTLY what he was pointing at in my life.  I’ve had dozens of different people, from all over the social and political spectrum, tell me that I should do it, and it actually was something I entertained the idea of pursuing when I was a kid.

Surely there has to be another way!  That’s one bridge that burned beyond repair many years ago.  I lit the fire, too.

In this lifetime, I am NOT going to be the President of the United States of America.  That’s one reason why I made the joke on one of my earlier blogs about not running for president myself, but if someone who knew how to organize and finance a campaign wanted to start one and draft me, I’d do it.  It was a safe statement, because I knew in advance that it would never happen.

I am not going to live in a fish bowl and have my every behavior scrutinized and criticized by people who can’t actually DO anything, but make a living off of making others worry.  I’m not going to try to obtain a job that can’t do anything of lasting value without the cooperation of 541 elected foot-draggers and progress blockers who only care about their own profit, or their own path to power.

Besides which – someone out there kills idealists who manage to get elected and try to buck the system, or change it.

“DO NOT CALL” List problem…

My wife and I have had our phone listed on the National “Do Not Call” list ever since the first day that it was possible to sign up.  In many respects, it has been wonderful.

What I don’t like is that the legislators who wrote the law that authorized the list made one very huge exception.  An entire BLOCK of people is immune from any punishment for breaking this law.  Who are these . . . . jerks?

Politicians and political pollsters.

Oh, and the reason I am specifically bringing this up right now?  The last 6 days IN A ROW (yes, do the math – that includes a national holiday weekend!) I have answered the phone to a robo-call voice (the same one, no less) telling me that “The following is an important political survey that will take just a moment . . . .” The honest truth is, I have no idea what comes next, because I always hang up.  IMHO there is no such thing as an important political survey – and NOBODY has a right to know in advance who I plan to vote for in November – or even IF I will vote in November.

If there was any one thing that we seriously needed to have a national referendum on, it would be the question of forcing US politicians to play by the same rules they make for everyone else to live by.

Freedom?

First, let me share a paragraph that was in the email I got yesterday from US Senator Jerry Moran (KS).

“This week, an activist group from out of state pressured the local post office in Pittsburg to remove a patriotic banner – a sign raised by veterans and post office employees in response to the attacks of 9/11. The banner has been proudly displayed since Sept. 11, 2001. I commend the Pittsburg community for rejecting this decision and I stand with them. The Constitution guarantees a right to freedom of religion, not freedom from religion. This banner is an expression of faith and of love for country. Expressions of patriotism, faith, and community should be welcome in our society and I have contacted USPS officials to express my concerns about their decision and to request reconsideration. Since the local post office branch is unable to display the banner, I am proudly to displaying it at my own office in Pittsburg.”

Now, let me focus on one phrase in that paragraph – “The Constitution guarantees a right to freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.”  There is just one small problem with that point of view – it has been used to totally invalidate “atheist” as a religious choice.  If it was the official position of the government, it could be used to state that everyone MUST choose some acceptable religion, which then throws open the doors to government deciding what religions are valid and which are not.  Of course, this would all be subject to the efforts of special interest groups and lobbyist organizations, and upstarts or independent churches would loose all claims.

THIS is why I have long advocated that a person’s individual religious beliefs should remain private, and should NEVER be given consideration when determining laws that oversee the fates of nations.  A nation like the United States of America needs to embrace ALL of its citizens, including those who do not accept any religion as valid, or it cannot function as anything less than an emerging police state.

Obama’s “refugees” arrested for terrorism

The following is an excerpt from an email I got several days ago. – V

_______________________________________

So much for Obama’s “rigorous vetting and screening” processes.

The FBI just fessed up to arresting two male Islamic “refugees” living in the U.S. on terrorism-related charges.

Federal officials caught Omar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan red-handed in Houston, Texas providing “training, expert advice and assistance, and personnel” to ISIS.

The Obama Administration granted him permanent legal status in 2011 after arriving from Iraq.

Aws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab was intercepted in Sacramento, California after lying about his ties to ISIS and traveling to Syria.

Both were terrorists masquerading as Islamic refugees.

And they fooled Obama Administration officials as they carried out suspected terrorist-related activity in America.

I sounded the alarm about Obama’s refugee program months ago.

It threatens our national security.

And the Obama Administration is failing miserably at thoroughly vetting these so-called “refugees” and filtering out the terrorists.

Even worse, Obama’s Syrian refugee scheme is set to bring 10,000 MORE potentially radical Islamists into America over the coming years.

That’s why I’m writing to you right now hoping you decide to get involved and take action to stop it.

I’ve set a goal of collecting 1,000,000 signatures this year from American patriots like you.

So far, over 80,000 people have signed the petition — which means we need 920,000 more signatures this year.

My plan is to whip up a grassroots firestorm of opposition demanding that Congress stop Obama’s Syrian refugee program.

With enough public pressure, especially during this year’s campaign, I’m confident our elected officials will pay close attention to our demands.

And believe me, if 1,000,000 fed up Americans like you are actively aware and involved, we will win this fight.

But without your action, it simply won’t be possible.

Big, scary numbers – not really…

I’m calling the BBC out on this one.

A few days ago, they posted an article online titled, “Obama considers unilateral action on US gun violence“. You can find it here: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-35211294

What I want to call them out on is that the graphic at the bottom of the article makes the US look completely out of control on guns – and I’ll admit it looks very scary. Which I’m sure it is supposed to. What the BBC isn’t telling you is that they are reporting ALL forms of gun-related death, including suicide, drugs, gangs, criminal misuse of guns, legal self-defense, and police killing people caught committing crimes who resist arrest. NONE of those will be altered significantly by any unilateral action President Obama can take. Not even one.

What the anti-gun crowd consistently ignores is this one unalterable truth: criminals do not care what the laws are.

How many terrorists…?

(the following is from an email I got from the American Security Coalition – Vernon)

“I don’t know.”

Let those words sink in.

Nearly 10,000 suspected terrorists were mistakenly granted permission to lawfully enter the U.S. before the State Department realized they massively screwed up and revoked their visas.

When Congress recently asked, “What happened…where are they?”, an Obama administration official shrugged, “I don’t know.”

That’s right, Vernon.

Nearly 10,000 suspected terrorists are roaming around inside our country, they want to kill you, and the Obama administration has no idea where they are at and they barely seem to care.

It gets worse.

The State Department has denied visas to only 2,231 applicants who were suspected of terrorist activity.

If you do the math, that means the federal government lets into our country four times as many suspected terrorists as it keeps out.

Yet we’re supposed to believe Obama’s Syrian refugee program uses “rigorous” vetting and screening processes?

While at the same time, Obama implies you are un-American and a bigot for opposing him.

I’m counting on you to help me stop this — before it’s too late.

You and I simply cannot allow a flood of Islamists to continually pour into our country, regardless of the reason — not after what we saw in France and San Bernardino.

That’s why the American Security Coalition has developed an aggressive program designed to educate and mobilize the American public against the grave dangers that Obama’s Syrian refugee program poses to our national sovereignty, security and values.

With your support, my plan is to create a grassroots firestorm to pressure Congress to secure our country and bring Obama’s Syrian refugee program to a hard-and-fast end.

No accounting . . .

DHS Official Unable to Give Number of Syrians in U.S. or Number of Expired Visas

http://freebeacon.com/national-security/dhs-official-unable-to-give-number-of-syrians-in-u-s-or-number-of-expired-visas/

A senior Department of Homeland Security official was unable to tell Congress the number of Syrian refugees who have entered the United States in the last year and the number of Americans who have travelled to Syria and returned, in testimony on Capitol Hill that angered many lawmakers.

and, if that isn’t bad enough, check this out

(the following is from an email I got from a group called American Security Coalition)

Barack Obama barked out orders and Congress rolled over and obeyed.

In the $1.1 trillion dollar spending bill negotiated by House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Republicans caved and fully funded Obama’s refugee program.

And while the Republican controlled House passed legislation with a veto proof majority that would have tightened the screening for refugees entering America, that language was dropped on the cutting room floor of the trillion dollar spending binge.

Now thousands of refugees from Syria — and other lawless Muslim nations — will nest in America.

Foxnews.com is reporting 100,000 Syrians have already flooded into our country since 2012.

Vernon, it’s not a hypothetical for ISIS to exploit the refugee program as a Trojan Horse to sneak jihadist fighters into America.

At least one of the Paris terrorists entered France as a refugee.

Veteran’s Choice update…

Because I live in Kansas, one of my US Senators is my father’s close friend & neighbor, Jerry Moran.  Because I’m a constituent, I’ve elected to receive his email newsletter.  Here is what he recently had to say about the Veteran’s Choice program:

Pressing the VA to Fix Choice Act Implementation

On Wednesday, the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee held a hearing to discuss the proposed VA Choice Program Consolidation Plan. This plan addresses how the Choice program will function in the future, but Kansas veterans continue to struggle right now with access to care in their communities through Choice. This is because of the flawed implementation of the Veterans Access, Choice, and Accountability Act of 2014 (Choice Act).  Many of our VA medical facilities in Kansas are only open part-time, or do not have a full-time medical doctor on staff, causing those who have sacrificed for our nation to struggle to receive needed medical services.

During the hearing, I had the opportunity to press Deputy Secretary Sloan Gibson on the eligibility requirements for the Choice program, and whether they are being interpreted and implemented correctly. Common sense tells us that if you live within 40 miles of a VA facility, but that clinic cannot provide you with the services you require, or does not have a medical doctor on staff, you should be able to receive care closer to home. I am pleased that Deputy Secretary Gibson agreed that those veterans living within 40 miles of a clinic open only part-time are eligible for Choice. Additionally, Sec. Gibson committed to providing more information on those eligible veterans so we can make certain they are aware of the resources available to them. Veterans deserve a VA worthy of their service and sacrifice, and I will continue to push the senior administrators at the Department of Veterans Affairs to fix the problems within the Choice Act today so we can make certain Kansas Veterans have access to timely, quality care.

One thought that immediately comes to mind is the observation of how politicians use language to mask realities.  Sen. Moran said there was a failed implementation of the Choice Act – but having read the act myself (and as one who has tried to use it without success) I can tell you that the Choice Act was so specifically written that it was DESIGNED to fail exactly the way it did.  It wasn’t an implementation failure, it was a design flaw.
