Vaccine transportation revolutionized . . .

Ok, first let me be very clear: I am firmly convinced that all vaccines are greatly over used, and even when they are used correctly, they might not be the best choice.  That said, here is a link to a story about a British student who has perfected a means of maintaining vaccines at the ideal temperature while in transit, that works for up to 30 DAYS.

What gets my attention is the possibility that the same tech can be used for transporting organ transplants, camping foods, and a lot more.

The future of portable energy?

The following link is to a BBC News Online article about how certain microbes can consume almost anything, and their “waste” output is electricity.  Of course, if there will ever be a battery made using this technology, it is not going to happen within the next 5 years.  Still, it’s something to think about.

Mozilla blocks Adobe Flash Player…

Mozilla has announced that all current versions of Firefox will block Flash by default due to security concerns.

Of course, these security concerns have been known for quite some time, and are responsible for why I haven’t allowed Flash to install on any of my computers for the last 3 years.  Still, it’s good to see Mozilla flex it’s muscle to get something done about them.

CERN’s LHC runs at full capacity…

CERN’s LHC (Large Hadron Collider) went through a process of beam attenuation since powering up over the past 2 months. Today, June 3 2015, CERN went into full operation using 13 TeV ( teraelectron volts ) of power, a #new #world #record.  A “tera” electron volt is a measurement in the trillions of volts.

13 TeV = 13,000,000,000,000 volts. 🙂

Hope that is easy to understand for my non-physics non-quantum mechanic non-electrician viewers !! LOLOLOL .. which is something most of us aren’t (including me). Who can understand such power expressed in numbers/text?

The experiments done today, involving the first attenuated + stable beams at full power, proved fully “successful”.

… and no, at last report, there were no observations of black holes forming north of Paris.  *grin*
